CAPE: 1902 UNRECORDED CRADOCK CENSOR CACHET: Rail letter franked 1d Hope Standing superbly tied by FISH RIVER cds AP 20 21 (year slug error for 02), addressed to Grahamstown. Front shows violet double triangle PASSED PRESS CENSOR CRADOCK with Stroud only recording a large Oval censor mark for this village. Cradock transit cds AP 21 and Grahamstown arrival cds AP 22. Scarce. Fish River is on the railway line approx 50k north of Cradock and this insignificant village achieves a rating of "Very Rare" from Putzel (1987).
