Cape of Good Hope 1825 Kowie Crown-In-Circle Wrapper

c1825 KOWIE: A superb strike of the elusive KOWIE CROWN-IN-CIRCLE on wrapper endorsed "TF Cowdery PM, Pt Frances" to the Postmaster General in Cape Town. The postmaster identified the village by the new name (from 1825) although his office was using the Kowie Crown-in-Circle handstamp. The Kowie Crown-in-Circle amongst the scarcer of these type; interesting endorsement. VF, attractive wrapper.
The Kowie crown-in-circle handstamp was little used as the anticipated Port did not develop.
