Cape of Good Hope 1826 Kowie Crown-In-Circle Wrapper

c1826 KOWIE: Wonderful wrapper bearing an excellent strike of the very scarce Kowie crown-in-circle handstamp. Addressed to Albany from the Government Resident (first appointed 1826) stationed at this harbour village. The appointee identifies the village as Port Francis (name change 1825) with the Kowie handstamp still in use. The earliest recorded Port Francis postmark is 1857. Interesting, superb.
