POST OFFICE STATIONERY: 1882 PRIVATE LETTER BOX RECEIPT being receipt # 6 issued at the Willowmore post office with cds MR 31. Receipt text reads: "Received from Messrs Faechse & Co the Sum of £1 for the Post Office Revenue, being the Rent for a Private Letter Box in advance, to the 31st December 188 .". Wonderful piece of post office stationery ephemera, all the more so from this tiny Eastern Frontier village. VF, rare.
