Cape of Good Hope 1897 Cork Cancel Cover to Mossel Bay

1897 CORK CANCEL COVER: Neat envelope franked KEVII 1d superbly tied by two adjacent strikes of cork cancel shaped as eight triangular segments positioned to form a diamond within a square. Mossel Bay cds AU 21 on reverse. Lovely item, VF, very rare. Research on a similarly cork-cancelled letter by Rev Pauw Steyl proves the use of this particular implement at BRANDWACHT, a small village with Postal Agency 12 miles from Mossel Bay.
