Cape of Good Hope 1898 Postcard Specimen Handstamped Ultramar

1898-1901 1d carmine on buff postcard with view at lower left (Town House, Cape Town) (H&G 15a). VF unused handstamped "ULTRAMAR". This defacement was applied by the Portuguese authorities prior to distribution of foreign specimens to their overseas colonies. Scarce.
