Cape of Good Hope 1906 Taxed Cover Unrecorded T2 Marking

TAXED COVER 1906 Interesting envelope WATERFORD/UITENHAGE (cds DEC 26) to UITENHAGE (arrival cds, same date) with strike of UNRECORDED privately made large bold TAX MARK "T2", alongside the KEVII 1d franking tied by the despatch mark of the minor village WATERFORD situated on the Sundays River near to Uitenhage. The rear shows an intentionally placed torn HALF of a similar adhesive to the franking, also tied by the departure cds, with alongside the arrival cds. Some minor imperfections. Fascinating conjecture as to what went on here?!
