1887 FORWARDING AGENTS: Envelope franked QV 1d tied Ladysmith cds (16 11 7) addressed to Newcastle. Front shows at top left handstamp in violet SCHENK’S FORWARDING / AGENCY NATAL /PERSEVENTIA ET / FORTITUDINE. On reverse the arrival cds (NO 17 87). These Forwarding Agents unrecorded by Kenneth Rowe (1984); the first such example of the cachet we have seen. F-VF, rare.
