NATAL: 1900 POA CANCELLER 9 of HILLTOP struck on GB 1d adhesive on Boer War entire to England. The letter, written at Ladysmith, is addressed to England with the arrival mark MY 19 00 on reverse. F-VF, scarce. The letter quotes"...one day about 900 Boers were reported within a few miles of us ... A Sgt of ours Jack Woodward & 3 men had put to flight 70 Boers first to get within range. They killed 2 & wounded 1 ..."
