NATAL: 1900 Envelope to London franked Natal QV 1d tied by strike of the rare ELANDS LAAGTE NATAL oval rubber handstamp, date 27 APR. On reverse Ladysmith cds of 27 AP and London arrival cds MY 19 00. This Elandslaagte datestamp was only used for a short period as a temporary implement following the British re-occupation of the town. Light soiling, a tad less than fresh. An elusive exhibition piece.
