Natal 1901 Russell Street POA 3 Canceller on 1d Envelope

1901 QV 1d Stationery Envelope (Quik type E2) superbly cancelled with strong strike of POA 3 addressed to Ladysmith. This POA canceller was used for three years from 1900 in the RUSSELL STREET post office, a sub-office in Durban, and is rated "extremely scarce" by Putzel (1990). Backstamped Durban and arrival 5 FE. Some light soiling, F, scarce.
