  • (He continued the flight to South Africa by easy stages after dropping out of the race following a crash owing to engine failure when holding second place at Felixburg Rd, Southern Rhodesia 3rd Oct 1936).
  • Franked GB 1½d tied by Portsmouth cds on departure.
  • Addressed to LA Wyndham in Johannesburg and with unusual for these IMPERIAL AIRWAYS / GERMISTON oval cachet on front dated for arrival.
  • SIGNED BY PILOT, front & back.
  • Clouston carried 45 pieces of mail, not all signed.
