South Africa 1945 War Effort Bantam ½d Margate Resort Postmark

1945 MARGATE RESORT POSTMARK: Envelope franked ½d Bantam (SG 97) tied by special MARGATE / SEASIDE PLEASURE RESORT cds. Addressed to Elisabethville, Belgian Congo at the unsealed item reduced rate. Margate is a seaside resort on the south coast below Durban. It was the only borough in South Africa to be provided with a publicity canceller of this type. It was in use from 1937 until 1950.
