1906 Soldiers letter to Germany, correct consessionary stampless use, from RAMANSDRIFT 28.3 (no year slug) and bearing a superb clear strike of the Soldatenbrief-Stempel / Feldregiment No.2 / 12. Kompagnie in violet. Backstamped on arrival 22.4.06. VF, scarce.
Putzel (1980) records Ramansdrift post office open from 1899-1914 and confirms that "in 1906 during the months of July, August and October postmarks without year slugs have been found". This cover shows that March 1906 must also be added to the research findings. The "Soldaten-Briefstempel" was added by the despatching Military unit as proof that it was a Field Post letter.
