South West Africa 1923 KGV 10/-Type II No Stop After "Afrika"

1923 KGV 10/- blue & olive, Setting II, 10mm between ovpt NO STOP AFTER "AFRIKA" (SG 14a/CC14a). Superb UM pair with interpanneau margin at left (variety occurring in position 6/1). A rare variety from this issue, only 40 examples ever possible within the requisition, few surviving. An exhibition showpiece, particularly elusive UM. Photo-cert: BPA. (cvR150000). The Type II Setting was free of flaws (save for this constant "no stop"), the improvement being ascribed to a harder metal being used in the make-up of the 60 subject overprinting forme.
