South West Africa 1941 Walvis Bay Censored Letter

1941 CENSORED MILITARY LETTER addressed "On Active Service" from WALVIS BAY to CAPE TOWN. The envelope with the writers details on the reverse, bears an initialled CENSOR LABEL, the despatch cds and in violet, the double circle WALVIS BAY DETACHMENT / SEAWARD DEFENCE FORCE / 9-6-1941 cachet. Interesting, F-VF. Enclosed is a letter which does not belong to the envelope. It is nevertheless interesting because the letter shows three further military handstamps, all in violet DIRECTOR S.A. ARMY POSTAL SERVICES/DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS/28.11.1944, Maj. D.A.D. Army Postal Services U.D.F., M.E.F. and DIRECTOR, S.A. ARMY POSTAL SERVICE.
