1903 KEVII 1d carmine on buff Reply Paid card (H&G 3). VF unused Reply section overprinted SPECIMEN and additionally handstamped "ULTRAMAR". Tone spotting at base on rear mentioned for accuracy, VF appearance. This "ULTRAMAR" defacement was applied by the Portuguese authorities prior to distribution of foreign specimens to their overseas colonies. Scarce.
